General file uploaded issues

1.“File is a duplicate of an existing file. "file display name" on project name"

Please ensure that you submitted the correct file, and that you have deleted your files from your deleted projects and try to re-submit it. For more information about deleting files, please go to this article.

2."Invalid file extension, expected {0}."
Please ensure that your file format is correct for the game and class; most game files must be in the .zip format, while Minecraft mods and bukkit plugins must be in the .jar format.

3. The zip contents contain blacklisted directories/extensions/files

"Archive contains blacklisted files, extensions or directories: '{0}'."

Modpacks

Here are the different  cases for modpacks (in "RejectionMessage"):

  1. Not a zip file: "Invalid file extension, expected zip."
Please use our app to generate and export your file. For more information, please see this article

  2. Missing manifest.json file.
Please use our app to generate and export your file. For more information, please see this article

  3. The following files belong to CurseForge-hosted projects, and should therefore not be added directly to zip files.
Please add those mods to your mod list before exporting your file from our app, instead of adding the jars to the override folder. For more information, please see this article.

If any of the following happens - Client Compatible turns to false:

  1. Modpack depends on two or more files of the same project: "Invalid file reference in manifest: File ID {0} references project ID {1}, which appears more than once."
Please ensure that the same mod doesn't appear in both the manifest.json and the override folder, also please re-create your file in our app and re-submit it.

  2. Modpack has a dependency to a file Id or  project Id that isn't on our system: "Invalid file reference in manifest: File ID {0} does not exist."
Please remove all the dependencies not hosted on  CurseForge.
  3. Modpack has a dependency to a file Id that isn't compatible with the modpacks modloader: "File {0} is invalid for modpack {1} with mod loader {2}" (rejected) *new reject message.
For a modpack to work for different mod loaders, all of its inner jars(MC mod) have to be tagged for multiple mod loaders by their authors, or your modpack must have a connection project such as Sinytra Connector.

  4. If a Fabric modpack doesn't contain a Fabric API version: "Fabric modpack doesn't include FabricApi mod" (rejected)
Please add the fabric API mod to your mod list before exporting your files.

  5. Invalid manifest.json file:References invalid fileIDs: fileID:"x", projectID "x" ("project name or number").
Your pack contains a deleted file. Please try to search for it here and remove it from your project list before exporting your files.
