Sul Sul modders!

We’re happy to welcome you to your new modding and CC home. We’re still working on getting all your favorite mods and content on to the CurseForge app, but in the meantime please use this guide for help with installing Sims 4 mods on your PC.

1. First, let's enable mods and CC in the game's settings:
   1. Open The Sims 4 and click on 'Options':
      
      
      
      

   2. Click on 'Game Options':
      
      
      
      

   3. Click on 'Other', enable the modding options ('Enable Custom Content and Mods' and 'Script Mods allowed') then click on 'Apply Changes' (if any warning comes up please click on the check mark):
      
      
      
      

   4. You will then need to relaunch your game for the changes to take effect.
      
      

2. Head to https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods and download any mods and CC you'd like:
   
   
   
   

3. Copy the mod files into the game's 'Mods' directory.
   The default path of the directory is: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ (Windows) or Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/ (macOS)
   
   

   
   
   Content downloaded from the 'Sims / Households' category or the 'Rooms / Lots' category should be placed in the C:\Users\[user]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray\ (Windows) or Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Tray/ (macOS) folder (instead of 'Mods').
   
   

   If the mods/CC that you downloaded and placed in the folders do not work in-game, please replace the files in the respective folders according to the following rules:
   The 'Mods' folder can contain the following file types: .package , .ts4script
   The 'Tray' folder can contain the following file types: .trayitem, .bpi, .hhi, .rmi, .sgi

   
   For example:
   If you downloaded the 'Go for a walk with more Pets' mod you will notice that it contains two files:
   LittleMsSam_GoForAWalkWithMorePets.ts4script
   and
   LittleMsSam_GoForAWalkWithMorePets.package
   
   
   Since both of these file types (.ts4script and .package) belong to the 'Mods' folder, all you need to do is place them both there.

   
   

   Note: If your download mod/CC is in a ZIP file, you will need to extract it first, open the extracted folder, and then place the files in the respective directory.
   You can extract the contents of the ZIP file using free software such as WinZip, 7-Zip, WinRAR, or any other archiving software of your choice.

   
   

   All that's left is to relaunch the game and enjoy all the new content!
