Uploading a new mod via ARK's Devkit


  1. Install ARK’s Devkit 
  2. Build your mod
  3. UGC -> Share mod
  4. Sign in/up to CurseForge
    a. Enter your email address

    b. An email with verification code is sent to your email
    c. Enter verification code


5. Fill in all the required fields

6. Select platform -
PC Only

  1. Source file will be cooked for PC and servers
    Note: Due to processing reasons, source and cooked files should be kept under 15 GB 
  2. Once published, the mod will go live and will be available in the VF website and inside the ARK in-game (for PC)
  3. The mod will be sent to the moderation team for review


Cross platform -

  1. The source file will be cooked for all platforms (PC, Xbox, Playstation and servers)
    Note: Cooked files should be kept under 5 GB due to the consoles limitation. Files bigger than 5 GB will be automatically rejected
  2. After cooking is completed, you will be able to test the mod on all platforms and servers 
  3. Once ready to publish, the mod will be sent to moderation
  4. After approval, the mod will be available on all platforms and on the CF website


NOTE: Once a platform has been selected, you will be able to change it only after creating a new version of the mod via the ARK Devkit 

  1. Select mod - Will present the name of the project which is about to be uploaded. Make sure this is the correct mod
  2. Mod name - Enter the desired display name in the in-game UI and on CurseForge website
  3. Mod version - Will present the mod version - This is generated automatically
  4. Upload image - Upload the image which will be presented in the mod’s tile in the in-game UI and on CurseForge website
  5. Category - Select the relevant category for your creation
  6. Mod summary - This is a short description which will be presented on the mod’s tile in the CurseForge website 
  7. Mod description - Describe your mod and your creation. This will be presented in the mod page both in the in-game UI and in the CurseForge website. The more detailed description the better.


NOTE: Once the mod is uploaded it will not be public yet. You will be able to edit the mod page and test it before it will be published. After uploading the mod from the Devkit, will be available in the CurseForge website and in the in-game UI on all platforms only for you and your desired members (see “Testing your new mod on all platforms” for more information).


After uploading your mod the mod will be automatically cooked for all platforms. You can see the project’s status on the mod’s project page in your dedicated authors section on the CurseForge website


Once the cooking will be completed, you will be able to publish your new mod (see “How to publish a new mod” for more information)
