How to skip launcher with CurseForge
To enable this setting:
Open the Minecraft settings in the CurseForge app.
Under Launcher settings, select Skip launcher with CurseForge:
Log in with your Minecraft account and authorize CurseForge:
Copy the CurseForge authorization code and paste it into the Microsoft login window:
Unsupported versions
The following versions are not currently supported when using Skip launcher with CurseForge:
Windows
1.7.2 (Forge mod loader)
1.5.2 (Forge mod loader)
Mac
1.20.1 (NeoForge mod loader)
1.15.2 – 1.16.5 (Forge mod loader)
1.2.3 – 1.2.4 (Vanilla and Forge mod loader)
Error explanations
General Troubleshooting
Ensure your computer’s region, date, and time settings are correct.
Windows: Go to Start > Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time, and turn on Set time zone automatically.
Mac: Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > General > Date & Time, and enable both Set time and date automatically and Set time zone automatically using your current location.
"Login failed. Please make sure you login with the account linked to the purchased game."
You don’t own Minecraft Java Edition or it’s not linked to the account you’re using.
Log in with the correct Microsoft/Mojang account.
Verify you can log in at xbox.com and minecraft.net/en-us/login.
If problems persist, switch to the Minecraft launcher and test login there.
"Login failed. Minecraft profile was not found."
No Minecraft user profile could be retrieved.
Launch the game once via the official launcher to create a profile.
Confirm login at xbox.com and minecraft.net/en-us/login.
If you're still having trouble, switch to running the game with the Minecraft launcher and check if you can log in successfully there.
"Login failed. Device code has expired. Please try again."
The authentication code expired. Restart the login process to generate a new code.
If you're still having trouble, switch to running the game with the Minecraft launcher and check if you can log in successfully there.
"Login failed. Unable to authenticate with Xbox live."
Possible causes:
No valid Xbox account
Xbox account is a child account (under 18)
Make sure you have an active Xbox account by signing in at xbox.com with your Microsoft account.
If you're still having trouble, switch to running the game with the Minecraft launcher and check if you can log in successfully there.
"Login failed. Authorization was declined."
This occurs if you cancel the authorization process. Try again and complete all steps.
If you're still having trouble, switch to running the game with the Minecraft launcher and check if you can log in successfully there.
"Login failed. Please try again."
This is a generic error with several possible causes:
Antivirus interference: Temporarily disable your antivirus and retry.
Passwordless Microsoft login: If you’re logging in with email codes instead of a password, set a password by selecting Forgot password on the Microsoft login page and retry.
If none of these resolve the issue, send us your CurseForge logs for further investigation.

Switch back to running modpacks with the Minecraft launcher
If the Skip launcher feature causes issues, you can revert to using the standard Minecraft launcher. Simply select Use Mojang launcher in the app settings:
