Moving to a different location on the same device

If you wish to move your modding folder (including modpacks and all installed content) to a different location on your system, please follow these steps:


  1. Open the app's settings and go to 'Minecraft'
  2. Click 'Change' and select the new location for the modding folder:


  3. When the following prompt shows up, click 'Yes':


  4. That's it! You can go ahead and play your modpacks as usual :)

Moving the folder to a different device

You can transfer your modpacks and other installed content from one device to another by following these steps:


On the original device

  1. Open the app's settings
  2. Select Minecraft from the left menu
  3. Under 'Minecraft Modding Folder', click 'Open':


  4. Copy the folder named 'Instances':


  5. Transfer the copied folder to the new device (you can use a disk-on-key, a shared folder online or any other method you prefer)


On the new device

  1. Set up a new modding folder:


  2. Open the app's settings
  3. Select Minecraft from the left menu
  4. Under 'Minecraft Modding Folder', click 'Open'
  5. Copy or move the original 'Instances' folder into the modding folder (overwriting the new one)
  6. The modpacks should now show up in the app
