Data Packs modify Minecraft’s game mechanics, like advancements, loot tables, and world generation. Unlike traditional mods that add new items or systems and require external code, Data Packs run natively in vanilla Minecraft on a per-world basis.

This article will guide you in the process of installing and loading data packs.

Loading Data Packs with Loaders

Note: At the moment only version 1.21.1 of Minecraft is supported.

CurseForge has collaborated with four mod authors to make the loading of data packs easier. When installing a data pack, if you don't have one of the following loader you will be prompted to install one of them:

  1. Open Loader by DarkhaxDev
  2. Global Data Packs by Declipsonator
  3. Global Packs by JTK222
  4. Paxi (Forge, Fabric,  NeoForge) by YUNGNICKYOUNG

Now, for each world you create under this profile the data packs will be automatically loaded!

Loading Data Packs Manually

If there isn't any loader that supports the data pack you have installed, you can still load it manually into your world.
